The History of Self Improvement
Many of the principles of self improvement were taught at least as far back in history as the time of ancient Greek philosophers. One of the first and still most famous ‘modern’ figures in self improvement is Napoleon Hill. As a young journalist in 1908, Hill interviewed the famous industrialist and philanthropist and one of the richest men in the world, Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie offered Hill an unpaid job which would take years of his life to complete – to interview the richest and most successful men in the world and research the common factors that made them so successful.
Napoleon Hill took his challenge and it made him a huge success, and 20 years later he wrote the pioneering work, Think and Grow Rich that remains one of the most influential works of personal development and self improvement to this day. You’ll find it and many more Self Improvement books here Hill proved that success could be modelled and duplicated and he helped to build the modern Self Improvement industry.
